Description
The Grange is a building located on Rickmansworth Road in Northwood. It dates back to the 15th century but was refaced, enlarged, and altered in the 19th century. The entrance front is made of yellow brick, while the garden front features red brick and rendered surfaces, topped with an old and machine-tiled gabled roof. The building has an irregular long rectangular shape with a central crosswing that is positioned at right angles. It stands two storeys tall and has 19th-century casement windows. The interior has been modified in the 19th and 20th centuries. The first floor is divided into three flats and retains a kingpost roof with carved braces and cambered tie-beams. Flat No. 3 features flat ceilings at the tie-beam level and kingposts in the attic above.
