Description
Nos 111 and 115 on Maze Hill, built in the early 18th century with some alterations, are two adjoining houses. No 111 has three storeys and a basement with four windows, while No 115 has three storeys and an attic with five windows. Both houses feature a high-pitched, hipped roof that has been renewed with machine tiles, and No 115 includes two modern square dormers. The exterior is made of multicoloured stock brick with red brick dressings. The second floor, which has been largely rebuilt, contains 19th century and modern casement windows, all of which have gauged, flat red brick arches.
No 111 has replaced its first-floor sash windows, which originally had glazing bars, and retains 18th century ground floor sash windows with glazing bars, both featuring stopped chamfered jambs. A carriage entrance located under the right first-floor window of No 111 serves No 115. The entrance to No 111 has five renewed steps leading to a door with two glazed panels and four fielded panels, set within a Doric doorcase that has fluted pilasters and a triglyph frieze. No 115 features early 19th century sash windows with glazing bars and blind cases on the first floor, while the ground floor windows in the three right bays have modern casements with transoms. The door of No 115 has four glazed panels and four fielded panels, framed by a reeded surround.
