Description

Two large houses, Nos 5 and 6 Harewood Hill, were built in the early 19th century, each with three storeys and originally three windows. The houses have been altered since their original construction. They are built of pinkish brick, with a stone sill band at the second-floor level; No 6 also has a stone sill band at the first-floor level. They have low-pitched hipped slate roofs. Gauged flat brick arches originally defined the sash windows, though some have been replaced. No 5 features a modern glazed door with an oblong fanlight. To the right of the door is a three-storey canted bay with sash windows within wood architraves. To the left, a two-storey oriel has casement windows and a cornice at the second-floor level. Between the two houses is a round-arched passage entrance. No 6 has two later 19th-century square and canted bays. These flank a six-panel door with an oblong fanlight in a wooden doorcase, featuring pilasters and an entablature.
