Description
This is an overthrow lamp located approximately 50 metres west of Lantern House, which is part of the former Connaught Barracks on Connaught Mews. The lamp dates from the early 19th century and is made of wrought and cast iron. Its design features two upright canons as the base, with four brackets that support lamp standards. These standards curve towards each other and curl under at the top, and they are connected by the bracket for the former lamp. This lamp serves as the central entrance to the quadrangle formed by the three former barracks and may have been relocated from the north-west entrance.
