Description

The South African War Memorial is a monument located on Grand Depot Road, constructed from polished Shap granite and resting on a dressed stone base with two steps. The base features a battered plinth with pediments on all four sides, supporting an obelisk above. There is an inscription on the plinth dedicated to the non-commissioned officers and men of the 61st Battery, Royal Field Artillery.
