Description

This is a cast iron lamp standard located opposite the entrance to a car park on Minster High Street. It dates from the late 19th century and features a fluted base topped with a bulbous moulding decorated with a pattern of anthemion leaves. The lamp has a tall cylindrical column with moulding at the top, a junction box, and a curved lamp bracket. It currently holds a late 20th-century lamp. This lamp standard is one of three remaining late 19th-century lamp brackets in the historic centre of Minster.
