Description

The Bell Inn is a public house located on Minster High Street, dating back to the 16th century, with a mid-19th century re-cladding and extension. The building features a timber frame that is rendered on the ground floor, while the first floor showcases ornamental tile hanging beneath a plain tiled roof. The original timber-framed section is two storeys high, with a moulded eaves cornice and a hipped roof that includes four hipped dormers and chimney stacks at the left end and rear left. The first floor has four glazing bar sash windows, while the ground floor has two glazing bar sashes to the right and two tripartite glazing bar sashes to the left. A central half-glazed door provides entrance.

To the left is an extension known as the Tea Gardens, which is two storeys and curves around the road corner. This extension has a brick corbelled eaves cornice and an irregularly hipped roof, featuring a chimney stack to the left and two lead-capped ventilators. Each floor has one glazing bar sash window, with a blank window space to the left on the first floor, all adorned with painted heads. A half-glazed door is located to the right. The interior has been altered, but parts of the original frame remain visible.
