Description

The Greenford War Memorial is made of Portland stone and is located on a green at the junction of The Broadway, Ruislip Road, and Oldfield Lane South. The memorial features a cross with a circular face that includes a small cross surrounded by a laurel wreath, all carved in relief. This cross is positioned atop a shaft that rests on a three-stepped base.

The inscription on the memorial reads: "1914 – 1918/ (NAMES)/ YE WHO LIVE ON MID ENGLISH PASTURES GREEN/ REMEMBER US, AND THINK WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN/ THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE." The names of the fallen are inscribed on the other three sides of the steps.
