Description
The K8 telephone kiosk at Northwick Park Station is a Grade II listed structure, designed by Bruce Martin for the General Post Office and produced from 1968.
This Mark 1 K8 kiosk has a square plan and is made up of six cast iron components: a floor plate, a roof dome, and four side panels. The rear panel is solid cast iron, while the two adjoining panels feature large panes of toughened glass set in rectangular frames with rounded corners. The fourth panel includes an aluminium door that is glazed to match the side panels. The roof dome is characteristic of the Mark 1 design, featuring plain, framed signage panels. The signage on the two panels facing north and south is marked 'Private'. The kiosk is painted white.
It is located on the island platform between Platform 1 (Northbound) and Platform 2 (Southbound) at the western end of Northwick Park station.
