Description
Farthings is a detached house built in 1893 by Arnold Mitchell. It features a redbrick exterior with a hipped tiled roof that has eaves and a regular composition. The house is two storeys high with a dormer and consists of five bays, including a lower window wing on the left side. The entrance is located to the right and is sheltered by a bracketed hood with a pitched roof. To the right of the entrance, there is a canted bay window. A long central window lights the stairwell and is made up of square-headed flush framed sashes with small panes and glazing bars, which connect to the lower wing. The eaves are adorned with a coved cornice, and there are tall chimneys on both the left and right sides. The rear elevation is also noteworthy. Inside, the house retains original woodwork, fireplaces, and other features.
