Description

White Tops is a house dating to 1893, designed by A Mitchell for his own residence. It was originally known as Grove Hill Cottage. The house is two storeys high and comprises three bays. The ground storey is painted brick, while the first storey is tile hung. The left bay features an entrance door with a flanking window to the right, and a weatherboarded gablet projecting above the eaves. The centre bay has a canted bay window to the ground floor, topped with a hipped tile roof, and a bracketed four-light mullioned casement window above, also with a weatherboarded gable. The right bay has a ground-storey bay window with a hipped tile roof, and a single window above, offset to the left. A single-storey, hipped-roof garage is situated to the left of the main house; it is not considered to be of special architectural interest.
