Description

Garlands, built in 1863 by C.F. Hayward, is an asymmetrical house with a boundary wall. The house is constructed of red brick with blue brick diapering. It has three and a half storeys plus a basement. Designed in the Gothic Revival style, it features a circular turret to the right, topped with a conical roof and a wrought-iron finial. A gabled wing is positioned to the left, complete with a fretted bargeboard and a single-storey hipped bay. The left-hand wing has two windows, with a dentilled string course below the second-floor windows and a dentilled brick cornice below the parapet. Conspicuous circular chimneys are a prominent feature. The roof is tiled. The main entrance is located under the right-hand angle. A decorative brick boundary wall surrounds the property.
