Description
The Butler Museum, part of Harrow School, was built between 1884 and 1886 by architect Basil Champneys. This three-storey building is constructed of red brick in the "Queen Anne" style, featuring Dutch gables. The south side has an external arcaded staircase and cut brick mouldings. The east front consists of six bays that are divided by buttresses, which support a balcony on the top floor adorned with terra-cotta consoles. There are two oriel bay windows at either end of the balcony, each with semi-circular central lights. The gables on the south and north sides display vertical and horizontal mouldings, while the west side features a louvred turret.
