Description
No. 8 Dean Street is a terrace house built in 1878 by Eales and Sons. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof and exhibits a High Victorian Italian medieval style. The building has three storeys, a basement, and an arched dormered mansard roof. It features three windows across its front. The ground floor was restored in 1976 and includes a semicircular arched doorway on the left, which has a slightly pointed moulded brick hood. There are also two similar deeply recessed windows. The upper floors have deeply recessed sash windows that are set under semicircular brick arches, each with slightly pointed brick hood moulds that are linked at their springing. The facade is adorned with sill bands and dog tooth bands made of cut and moulded brick, and it has a machicolated brick parapet. Additionally, there are cast iron area railings with moulded finials.
