Description

Number 12 and Number 2 Howley Place are a pair of houses dating from the early to mid-19th century, situated on the south-west side of Park Place Villas in the City of Westminster. Constructed of brick and rendered with stucco, the buildings have a concealed roof and extend over three storeys and a basement.

Number 12 presents a three-bay facade. The ground floor features a sill band, and a central four-panel front door sits within a pilastered doorcase topped with a segmental pediment. The tripartite sash windows are framed by architraves with sills and pediments supported on consoles. A sill band marks the first floor, followed by sashes with horizontal glazing bars, similarly framed. The second floor is similarly detailed with sashes and glazing bars, and the building is finished with modillioned overhanging eaves. Number 2 has a matching five-bay facade. The buildings were undergoing restoration at the time of inspection.

A stucco front garden wall and gatepiers, featuring a lintel, are also part of the listing.
