Description

A row of six houses at 27-33 St George’s Square, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco with slate mansard roofs. Each house has a front of two windows and extends over four storeys, with an attic and basement. The ground floor is deeply channelled. Projecting porches are present, supported by square Doric antae. A balustraded balcony runs along the first floor, though it is missing from number 29. The windows are square-headed and architraved above the ground floor; cornices are present to the first and second floors. They are sash windows with glazing bars. A cornice runs above the third floor. Cast iron area railings are present. The houses are an integral part of the design of St George’s Square.
