Description
A row of houses on the west side of St George’s Square, dating from the mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of stucco, with a roof that is not visible. Numbers 76 to 94 are five storeys high with a basement, while numbers 96 to 108 are four storeys high with an attic and basement. Each house has a two-window frontage. Projecting porches, featuring Doric columns and triglyph friezes, are present. The front doors are mostly panelled. Ground floor windows are canted, and a continuous balustraded balcony runs along the first floor. Windows are square-headed, with architraves above the ground floor, pediments above the first floor, and cornices above the second floor. Windows to numbers 76 to 94 also have cornices above the third floor. The windows are sash windows, with glazing bars, some plate glass and margin glazing to numbers 76 to 94. First-floor windows are French casements. A console cornice runs above the third floor of numbers 96 to 108, and above the fourth floor of numbers 76 to 94. Cast iron area railings are also present.
