Description
The Church of St Saviour, built between 1863 and 1864, is located in St George's Square, City of Westminster. It was designed by Cundy Junior and restored in 1882 by Romaine Walker. The church is constructed of rubblestone with ashlar dressings and features a pitched slate roof. It is designed in the Geometrical Gothic style, consisting of a six-bay aisled nave, a clerestory, and a lower chancel. The north-west tower has three stages, with an ashlar spire set back behind a parapet and a clock located on the second stage. The aisle windows are three-light, while the clerestory windows are two-light, and there is a six-light west window. Inside, the church reportedly contains sanctuary arcading by Romaine Walker, decorated by Kempe around 1891-1892, along with stained glass by Romaine Walker, Kempe, and Clayton and Bell. The east window was also designed by Romaine Walker.
