Description

The Pimlico (St Saviour's) War Memorial is a wooden gabled cross, dating from the aftermath of the First World War, and later augmented to commemorate the Second World War. The cross features a sculpture of Christ bearing an INRI scroll. It is supported by a wooden tripod structure, which stands on a wooden platform atop a stone plinth. The four sides of the plinth display raised stone plaques. The left and right plaques list names, while the front plaque reads "PRAY FOR THE SOULS OF / THOSE WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR / 1914 R.I.P. 1918" above a further list of names. The lower plaque reads "MAY THEY REST IN PEACE / 1939 - 1945" followed by additional names. The entire memorial stands on a stone platform.
