Description

This is a row of six houses located at 54-60 St George’s Square, in the City of Westminster. They were built in the mid-19th century and are constructed of stucco. The roof is not visible. The houses are four storeys high with an attic, and each has a facade of two windows. The ground floor is characterised by channelling. Each house features a projecting Doric porch with a triglyph frieze. A continuous balustraded balcony runs along the first floor. Windows are square-headed with architraves above the ground floor, pediments above the first floor, and cornices above the second floor. Most windows are sash windows with plate glass. A console cornice sits above the third floor, and a subsidiary cornice extends to the attic. A return is visible to the right. Cast iron area railings with a spearhead design are present.
