Description

TQ 2681 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER NORFOLK SQUARE, W2 52/11 (south-east side) 10.4.75 Nos 23 to 53 including No 34 Norfolk Place. GV II Terrace. Probably 1850s. Brick, stuccoed. Roof concealed. 4 storeys, attic and basement, each house 3 bays. Projecting porches with segment-arched openings flanked by pilasters and consoles. Nos 31-47 have been greatly altered at ground floor level. Balcony to 1st floor with stucco balustrade. Triple groups of casement windows in architraves with frieze and cornice. Pediments to central windows. 2nd floor sashes in architraves with lion heads. Pulvinated frieze and cornice. Moulded sill. 3rd floor sashes in architraves on moulded sill. Decorative 4th floor band. Sashes in architraves. Dentilled cornice, not continuous. Iron railings to basement with arrow heads. Included for group value only.
