Description

TQ 288/SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER HANOVER SQUARE, W1 56/150 Cabmen's Shelter to North of Central Garden - II Cabmen's Shelter 1897. Timber framed with tongue and groove timber panel infill; timber clad hipped roof to eaves. 7 bays by 3 bays. Entrance to south side, windows to upper part of wall in second,third and fifth bays, plate glass. Narrow band of decorative fretwork panels between, below eaves. Prominent rafters to eaves with decorative ends. Stump of central fleche survives. Erected by Cabmen's Shelter Fund. One of most elaborate surviving examples.
