Description

TQ 2980 SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER ST JAMES'S PLACE SWl 81/89 20.5.69 No 31 GV II End of terrace house. Late C18. Amber brick, slate roof. 3 storeys, basement and dormered mansard. West front has stuccoed 3 window shallow bow through ground and 1st floors, recessed sashes with glazing bars, and 3 square windows to 2nd floor. Parapet with coping. North front has semicircular arched doorway, 6-panel door with side lights under delicately patterned fanlight. One recessed sash window under flat gauged arches, in line with door to each of upper floors. Wrought iron area railings with overthrow lampholder to entrance. Interior has open well geometrical staircase with ramped handrail; lst floor closet has inlaid marble chimney piece and reset statuary marble chimney piecefrom No 28. Survey of London; vol XXX
