Description

TQ 2980 SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER ST JAMES'S PLACE SW1 81/80 20.5.69 No 10 GV II Terrace house. Part of c.1685 row but rebuilt 1774-75. Brown brick, slate roof. 3 storeys and dormered mansard. 3 windows wide. Ground is slightly advanced from facade and surmounted by stone balustrade to the lst floor. Semicircular arched doorway to left with rusticated arch. Revealed sashes, no glazing bars under flat gauged arches and with a bay window to the centre of let floor. Parapet with coping. Interior has open well cut string staircase with lantern light to compartment, simple plasterwork ceilings and friezes of the 1770s. Survey of London; vol XXX
