Pair of houses. c.1898-1900 by G.A. Hall. Red brick with stone dressings, slate roofs. Free Style Jacobethan with good Arts and Crafts detailing. 4 storeys and basement. 2 window wide front to No. 5A and 2 window front to No. 6 projecting from right hand, broad, single bay wing. No. 5A has porch to right consisting of parapet wall with 2 short columns to right of opening and one to left corner carrying stone entablature, the door to left hand of stone wall face beneath porch; No. 6 has doorway to right hand of projection with suspended cornice-hood, approached by steps curving up between swept out parapets with ball finials. 3 storey parapeted canted bay with flush stone mullion lights to No. 5 with 4 floors of 3-light casements over porch. No. 6 has 3 storey, stone dressed, flush mullion bow to recessed wing and 5-light flush mullioned windows carried across each floor to projection. Prominent flat eaves, dormered attics. Area railings, with Arts and Crafts detailing, on raised pavement and with ball finials to those of No. 6.
