Description
North Cottage consists of two houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick, with No. 20 on the left being painted, and feature tile roofs with brick stacks. The buildings have a double-depth plan and are two storeys high, each with a two-window range and a central entrance.
Both houses display a brick dentilled frieze and coped gables. No. 19 has ground-floor windows with brick segmental arches above 16-pane horned sashes that have moulded frames, and similar sashes are found on the first floor. The porch is plastered with an ogival roof and features an ogee-headed entrance with a half-glazed door.
No. 20 features canted bays topped with cornices and has 4:12:4-pane sashes on the ground floor, while the first floor has a 12-pane sash and a 4-pane horned sash. Its entrance includes an ogee-headed trellis porch and paired three-panel doors. Both houses have end stacks and a cross-axial stack. There is a rear gabled wing and a single-storey wing with a garage door on the left return. The interior has not been inspected.
