Description
Number 47 Great Cumberland Place is a terraced town house built around 1800 to 1820 as part of the Portman Estate development. The building features red stained brick with a stucco ground floor and has a concealed slate roof. It stands five storeys tall with a basement and is two windows wide. To the left, there is a semicircular arched doorway with a panelled door, pilastered jambs, and a fanlight above. The upper floors have recessed sash windows under flat gauged arches. A plat band finishes off the ground floor stuccowork, and there is a crowning cornice and blocking course at the top. The first-floor windows are adorned with cast iron balconettes, and there are cast iron area railings with urn finials. This building is included in the register for its group value.
