Description

TQ 2781 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER GREAT CUMBERLAND PLACE, 54/42 Wl 14.1.70 No. 49 G.V. II Terraced town house. c.1790-1800 Portman Estate development. Stock brick with stucco banded rustication to ground floor; concealed slate roof. 4 storeys and attic storey, on basement. 3 windows wide. Semicircular arched doorway to left; panelled door with sidelights, the jambs capped with shallow consoles supporting doorhead ornamented with Greek fret, patterned fanlight. Recessed sashes, under flat gauged arches to upper floors. Plat band finishing off ground floor stuccowork, plain stucco plat band to 3rd floor which has stucco modillion cornice and attic cornice and blocking course. Original, cast iron, geometric patterned balcony across 1st floor. Cast iron spear head railings with urn finials.
