Description

No. 14 King Street is a terrace house with shops, originating from 1704-05 and refaced around 1862. The building is stuccoed with a concealed roof and features an elaborate Italianate facade. It stands four storeys high and is one broad window wide. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front, while the upper floors showcase recessed tripartite sash windows set within architraves. The first floor windows are flanked by Ionic pilasters that support an entablature, while the second floor has a block balustrade and cornice on consoles. Each floor is flanked by rusticated and panelled quoin pilasters, with string and sill courses, and is topped with a deep crowning cornice supported by modillion brackets.
