Description
Number 90, including railings, is a terraced house built in the late 1820s, attributed to the local developer John Johnson. The building is constructed of stock brick with stone sills and features a slate roof. It has two bays, three storeys, and a basement. The sash windows are set under gauged brick heads and have central glazing bars, with the upper windows also featuring a central bar, creating a strongly horizontal appearance. The first-floor windows are complemented by iron balconies. The entrance includes a four-panelled door with a fanlight in a simple round-arched surround. Original railings are present at the steps and in the area. Inside, the house retains simple cornices and an original stick baluster stair with a curving handrail, which is set under a top-lit hall. This property is noted as a complete surviving example of an 1820s town house.
