Description

TQ 2978 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER PAGE STREET, SW1 105/9 (north side) 5.2.70 No 32 and gate piers between Bennett House and Edric House, Grosvenor Estate G.V. II Former housing estate lodge, now shop, and flanking gate piers. 1928-30; consultant Sir Edwin Lutyens; part of the Westminster Housing Scheme for the Grosvenor Estate. Portland ashlar and grey brick, slate roof. Neo-Georgian style. Single storey pavilion. Tripartite front with central glazing bar sash window flanked by fixed glazing bar windows; stone architraved doorways and similar sashes to sides; all articulated by deeply channelled piers and quoin piers; cornice and parapet below eaves of pyramidal roof with crowning finial. Abutting, ashlar, ball finialed gate piers with their corresponding piers abutting Bennett House and Edric House respectively.
