Description

Number 32 and the gate piers between Bennett House and Edric House on the Grosvenor Estate is a former housing estate lodge, now a shop, built between 1928 and 1930. The consultant for the project was Sir Edwin Lutyens, and it is part of the Westminster Housing Scheme for the Grosvenor Estate. The building is constructed of Portland ashlar and grey brick, topped with a slate roof, and is designed in a Neo-Georgian style.

It is a single-storey pavilion with a tripartite front featuring a central glazing bar sash window flanked by fixed glazing bar windows. There are stone architraved doorways and similar sash windows on the sides, all highlighted by deeply channelled piers and quoin piers. The building has a cornice and a parapet below the eaves of its pyramidal roof, which is crowned with a finial. The flanking gate piers are made of ashlar and topped with ball finials, corresponding to the piers at Bennett House and Edric House.
