Description
This is a pair of mid-19th century houses located at Wellington Place, London. The buildings are of brick construction, with a stucco finish, and have a Welsh slate roof. They are two storeys high with an attic and basement, and consist of three bays. Number 26 has steps leading to a central entrance with double doors and an overlight within a Tuscan porch. The ground floor windows are casement windows set within architraves, with decorative hoods supported by consoles and incorporating iron balconies. First-floor windows are 16-pane sashes in architraves, and there is an open-pedimented gable end with a thermal window. Number 10 comprises two bays with a narrow recessed bay to the right, where the entrance is concealed. A window bay to the left projects slightly, with windows in architraves and decorative hoods or consoles to the ground floor. A three-window canted bay is to the right. A first-floor band runs along the facade, and the roof is hipped. Dormers of 20th-century origin have been added to Number 10.
