Description

Nos. 273, 275, 275A, and 281A on Regent Street is an office and shop block built between 1926 and 1927 by the architectural firm Trehearne and Norman. The building is constructed from Portland stone and features slate roofs in a classical style. It stands four storeys tall with attics and has two tiers of dormers in a steep mansard roof. The façade is thirteen windows wide and includes a curved corner bay, with three window returns facing Great Castle Street and Margaret Street. The ground floor is pilastered and has mid to late 20th century shop fronts and entrances. The upper floors feature architraved and recessed metal casement window bays, along with an entablature at the ground floor and sill courses. There is a continuous balustraded balcony on the second floor, and the main entablature is adorned with a dentil cornice, while the parapet is topped with urn finials.
