Description

TQ 2881 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER REGENT STREET W1 56/78 (west side) Nos 273, 275,275A, 281, 22.11.73 281A, 283, 283A, 285, 287 GV II Office and shop block. 1926-27 by Trehearne and Norman. Portland stone, slate roofs. Classical style. Four storeys, attics and 2 tiers of dormers in steep mansard. Thirteen windows wide with curved corner bay treatment and 3 window returns to Great Castle Street and Margaret Street. Pilastered ground floor with mid to late C20 shop fronts and entrances. Upper floors have architraved and recessed metal casement window bays. Entablature to ground floor, sill courses. Continuous balustraded balcony to second floor. Main entablature with dentil cornice; parapet surmounted by urn finials.
