Description

Nos 32 to 92 (even) and No 96 on Randolph Avenue, built around 1860, form a terrace of houses in the City of Westminster. The buildings are constructed of brick and stucco, featuring a channelled ground floor and a Welsh slate roof. Most houses are three storeys high with an attic and basement, except for Nos 32 and 34, which have four storeys and no attic. Each house typically has two bays, while No 34 has three bays. There is an eight-bay breakforward at the left end with quoins at No 90, and a 24-bay central breakforward with quoins at No 52. No 36 also breaks forward at the right end, and Nos 32 and 34, which break forward again, form a separate build with quoins at No 34.

The terrace features projecting Ionic porches, some of which are damaged, that contain panelled doors with overlights. Nos 32 and 34 have Doric porches. The ground floor has tripartite sash windows set in vermiculated quoined surrounds, while No 34 has sash windows. On the first floor, there are casements in pedimented surrounds with attached fluted Corinthian columns, along with a balustraded balcony. Nos 32 and 34 feature casements in architraves with hoods on consoles and an iron balcony, with sashes in architraves above. The buildings have a dentilled cornice, which is modillioned at No 32, and the attic has an additional cornice. The mansard roof is complemented by iron railings at the basement. At the time of the last survey, Nos 92 and 96 were undergoing renovation, while No 94 had been too radically altered for inclusion in the listing.
