Description

A row of three terraced houses at 1-3 Craven Terrace, London W2, dating from the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of brick with stucco dressings, and extend to four storeys, with a mansard roof to number 3. Each house originally had two windows across the front. The ground floors of number 3 have been altered and now contain shop fronts. Number 1 has a stuccoed ground floor and features pilaster detailing. A cast iron, bombé (rounded) balcony is located on the first floor. The windows are square-headed, with architraves above the ground floor and cornices to the first and second floors. They are primarily sash windows with glazing bars, although first-floor windows are French casements. A stucco cornice sits above the third floor. The return elevation on the right side includes a decorative chimney.
