Description
This is a three-window terrace house located on Hill Street, London, dating to circa 1748, with alterations undertaken in the mid-19th century. The house is constructed of brick with a stuccoed ground floor, and has a slate roof. It stands four storeys high, with a basement and dormered mansard roof. A blocked cornice is visible at the level of the third floor, topped by a crowning cornice and blocking course. A mid-19th century porch is located on the right-hand side, and the sash windows feature stucco architraves, with those on the first floor being pedimented. Cast iron area railings are present. The interior retains the front compartment of the staircase, featuring a wrought iron balustrade in a lyre pattern, cut stone steps, and a string with moulded soffits. Original doorcases and simple plasterwork, including cornices and friezes, also remain.
