Description
No. 31 Hill Street is a mid-18th century terrace house located in the City of Westminster. The building is constructed of brown brick and features a slate roof. It stands four storeys tall, with a basement and a mansard roof, and has four windows. The ground floor is rusticated stucco, and there is a stone bracketed cornice at the third floor level, along with a cornice below the parapet. To the left of the entrance, there is an architrave doorcase with consoles supporting a moulded cornice. The windows are revealed glazing bar sashes set under flat gauged arches. In front of the doorway, there are wrought iron area railings with obelisk stone piers. Inside, the house boasts some notable features, including statuary chimney pieces and an open string staircase with carved brackets at the tread ends and turned balusters.
