Description

A pair of terraced houses located on Blandford Street in Westminster, dating from around 1790 as part of the Portman Estate development connected to Baker Street. The houses are constructed of stock brick with stuccoed ground floors, and have concealed slate roofs. They are four storeys high, with a basement, and each has a two-window front. Number 61 has had a restaurant frontage added, while number 63 retains a semicircular arched doorway on the left, featuring a fanlight above the door. The upper floors have recessed sash windows with stuccoed reveals, set within flat, gauged red brick arches. Stuccowork is used to finish the sill band at the first floor level. A parapet is present, topped with stone coping, and cast iron area railings are accented with urn finials. The buildings are included on the list solely for their group value.
