Description

This is a terrace of five houses, numbers 1 to 5, located on Formosa Street in Westminster, built around 1860. The buildings are brick with a stucco finish and have a Welsh slate roof. They are arranged in three storeys, with each house originally consisting of two bays. The ground floors now contain 20th-century shop fronts at numbers 1 and 3, while number 5 has an altered 19th-century shop front. The first floor windows are four-pane sashes, set within architraves that have cornices. A cornice runs along the top of the building. The terrace returns to Warrington Crescent, where it presents a monumental stucco composition featuring a plinth, paired composite pilasters that support an entablature, and a round arch with a volute keystone on the pilasters. The buildings were undergoing renovation at the time of the last survey.
