Description

The lamp post outside Corpus Christi Church is a gas street light dating from 1910, featuring a Windsor-type lantern that was installed around 2019.

The lamp post is made of cast iron and has a tapering, fluted 'Eddystone' column. At the base of the column, there is the Westminster City Council crest on one side and the royal cypher G V R along with the date 1910 on the other side. The lantern is square and has four tapered glass sides with metal glazing bars, topped with a decorative ogee finial. Inside the lantern, there is a four-mantle inverted burner and an enamel reflector. The lantern is mounted on a four-legged frog that is attached to the collar of the column.
