Description
No 95 Piccadilly is a town house built in 1886 by Roper and Lovejoy. It features a stone-faced exterior and a slate roof, showcasing a design inspired by Franco-Flemish architecture. The building has four storeys, a basement, and a gabled attic storey. Its narrow, symmetrical front has two bays set at a slight angle. To the left, there is a semicircular arched recessed porch entrance, and the ground floor has four windows with semi-circular fanlights, which are flanked by pilasters that support bold console brackets for a stone balustraded balcony on the first floor.
The first and second floors include canted bay windows, with Ionic pilasters on the first floor featuring fluted consoles that support an entablature. The second floor's windows are set behind guards and are flanked by composite pilasters that support an enriched entablature with a balustrade above. The third floor has two groups of four windows flanked by Corinthian pilasters, and there is a carved main cornice. The attic features twin gables with flat arched windows topped by pedimented oeil de boeuf, linked by a balustrade. A segmental pedimented dormer is centrally located on the hipped roof. The left return of the building is plain and includes tall chimney stacks.
