Description
No. 105 Piccadilly is a former terraced town house originally built in the late 18th century by Michael Novosielsky. It was rebuilt on a grand scale between 1849 and 1851, with some alterations made around 1900. The building is constructed of Portland ashlar and features a slate roof. It stands four storeys high, with a basement and a dormered mansard roof. The façade is five windows wide, with a shallow bowed centre containing three windows.
The ground floor is rusticated and has flat voussoir arched sash windows, along with a projecting porch to the right that is adorned with marble-clad Doric columns and a flight of steps, which is a feature from the 1900 alterations. The sash windows on the first and second floors are framed by a giant order of fluted Corinthian pilasters, which support an enriched modillion entablature beneath the attic storey, complete with a cornice and blocking course. Additionally, there is a geometric early 19th-century cast iron balcony across the first floor, and a cast iron area balustrade between stone dies with stone coping.
