Description

TQ 2781 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER GREAT CUMBERLAND PLACE, 54/32 Wl 14.1.70 Nos. 58 to 68 (even) G.V. II Terraced town houses. c.1800-20 Portman Estate development. Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floors; concealed slate roofs. 5 storeys and basement. 3-window wide fronts. Semicircular arched doorways to right with pilaster jambs, panelled doors under patterned fanlights. Recessed sash windows, under flat gauged arches to upper floors. Plat band finishing off ground floor stuccowork; stucco sill band to 3rd floor of No. 60; stucco stringcourse over 3rd floor; crowning dentil cornice and blocking course. Original, cast iron, geometric patterned balconies to 1st floor. Cast iron area railings with urn finials. No. 68 has 4-bay return with similar details to Bryanston Square and recessed east wing.
