Description

TQ 2980 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER PICCADILLY, W1 71/82 (south side) 30.5.72 Nos. 215 and 216 G.V. II Offices and shops. c.1905-10. Portland stone, slate roof. Eclectic Baroque details. 5 storeys and attic storey. 3 windows wide. Mid C.20 shop fronts on ground floor. 1st floor has large metal casement windows deeply recessed; 2nd floor windows architraved with scrolled keystones and stone balconettes with iron balustrades; 3rd floor windows also architraved with plain keystones; 2 light architraved 4th floor windows with balconettes. A continuous stone bracketed balcony takes the place of a main cornice above which is the stone faced attic storey with cornice and blocking course. Included for group interest only.
