TQ 2980 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER PICCADILLY Wl 70/75 (north side) 30-5-72 Nos 19 and 20 (Denman House) GV II Office and shops. 1903 by H. A. Woodington. Stone faced with slate roof in a neo-Baroque style turning corner into Air Street. 5 storeys and attic with 6 storey corner tower. 2 bays to Piccadilly, bowed corner becoming a half octagon tower above 1st floor, single matching bay to Air Street. Ground floor shop fronts under entablature, the fascia of corner one with Art Nouveau lettering, archivolt arched corner entrance. The entablature has an enriched cornice with sculptured lions. The 1st floor windows are set in a colonnade of Doric piers; 2nd and 3rd floor windows are vertically linked in enriched arched openings with sculptured panels; 4th floor windows are set in Ionic colonnade. Enriched frieze to the main entablature, its cornice supporting an elaborate lucarne. The top storey of the corner tower has an Ionic order above which a pierced drum with bold volute buttresses supports a stone dome. Survey of London; vol XXXI
