Description
Nos. 18 and 20 Greville Place are a pair of large semidetached houses built around 1819 to 1824 by George Pocock for Hon. Fulke Greville Howard's Estate. They are constructed of stucco and have a roof that is not visible. The houses are two storeys tall with a half basement and each house features five windows across the front, including two central bays that create an advanced pedimented centerpiece. There is a one-bay section beyond this with recessed entrances set in wide pilastered and corniced porches, leading to recessed two-window wings. The windows are square-headed, with architraves and sash designs that include glazing bars. No. 18 has cornices above its ground floor windows, while No. 20 is missing this feature. The entrances are accessed by steps, and the ground floor has cast iron balconies with an anthemion pattern. There are iron balustrades along the entrance steps and a cornice above. The second floor features a pediment with a central oval window that has patterned leaded lights.
