Description

No. 2A, Stepney Green, is a late 18th-century building. It is constructed of brown brick with a stucco plinth and parapet, the roof being concealed. The building is three storeys high with a symmetrical two-window front. The windows are sash windows, with flat gauged arches above. Most windows are plain, but the top-floor windows have glazing bars. A good wooden doorcase features a pediment supported by fluted consoles, a dentil cornice, and panelled pilasters. The doorway is round-headed with a plain fanlight. The building forms part of a group with numbers 2 to 18 (even) and 19 to 23 (odd) on Stepney Green.
