Description
This is a mid-19th century yellow brick corner building, formerly part of the Anchor Brewery. The ground floor features rusticated brickwork with rounded corners. Bands of white stone run across the ground and first floor levels. The building has stone window dressings and an open balustraded parapet, with a hipped roof. White stone panelled chimneys are situated at the east and west corners, and are incorporated into the arch at the corners. The facades facing Mile End Road and Cephas Avenue both contain four unbarred sash windows; those on the first floor are set within arched brick recesses. A later three-story red brick building extends to the rear. The Cephas Avenue facade includes an eaves cornice and blocking course, featuring nine barred sash windows with white stone dressings and a segmental hood over the central door. The building is part of a group which includes numbers 107 to 113 (odd), number 129, and The Drinking Fountain.
