Description

This is an early 19th century terrace of six houses, numbered 4 to 10, located on the southwest side of Stepney Green. The houses are built of brown brick with coped parapets; the roofs are not visible. The ground floors of numbers 8 and 10 have channelled stucco facades. The overall design is of three storeys, with two windows per house. The windows are sash windows, each set beneath a gauged flat arch. Windows on the first floor of number 4 and the top floors of numbers 8 and 10 retain glazing bars. The ground floors of numbers 4 and 6 have been altered to include later shop fronts; the shop front for number 4 has a dentil cornice with scroll stops and arch-headed iron mullions. Numbers 8 and 10 have round-headed windows and doors with glazing bars; the doors are flanked by pilasters and feature plain fanlights. Numbers 2 to 18 (even) are part of a group that includes numbers 19 to 23 (odd).
