Description

This is a terrace of six houses, numbered 17 to 23, located on Union Crescent and dating from around 1830. The houses are three storeys high with basements and are constructed of brown brick. Number 17 has been partially painted, number 18 is stuccoed, and numbers 21 and 23 have a pebble-dashed finish. A parapet runs along the top of the terrace, featuring stone coping. Each house has one sash window with some original glazing bars, and a three-light canted bay window extending through all three floors. The doorcases on the left-hand side are round-headed, with rusticated surrounds. Most of the doors are six-panelled. Steps lead up to the street level, and area railings are present, topped with urn or acorn finials. Numbers 17 to 23 form a cohesive group.
